Learning Robot Policies for Whole-Body Mobility Assistance via Dynamic Human Motion Generation

Shikun Ban, Shohei Nagai, Qingyang Song, Hanxi Wan, Eric Zhao, Thomas Wang, Zackory Erickson

Robotic assistance for human mobility could benefit care recipients and reduce caregiver burden during physically demanding tasks such as Sit-to-Stand (STS) and Lift-and-Transfer (L&T). Learning robot policies for these whole-body assistive tasks is challenging: real-world data collection for human-robot interaction is costly and safety-critical, making simulation an attractive alternative.

Thinker-WM: A Unified World Model with Shared Multimodal Representations for Embodied Intelligence

Thinker Team, Peng Gao, Jichao Jiao, Chen Liao, Daqin Luo, Yiming Ma, Baiyu Pan, Hailin Shi, Jiyuan Wang, Xiangming Xu, Xiongwei Zhao

World models have emerged as a promising paradigm for embodied AI, yet existing systems often remain fragmented in the modalities they model and the functions they support. In particular, visual dynamics, geometric structure, and executable action are commonly coupled through separate interfaces or downstream modules rather than being jointly represented and evolved within a shared dynamics model.

Data-Free Continual Learning for World Action Model with Rectified Generative Replay

Kaipeng Fang, Hangxu Liu, Chaojian Shi, Yunsong Zhou, Hongzi Zhu, Minyi Guo, Jingkuan Song, Lianli Gao

World action models (WAMs) built on pretrained video generation models adapt quickly to new robotic tasks, but they forget previously learned tasks under sequential fine-tuning. Experience replay (ER) mitigates such forgetting by rehearsing data of previous tasks, yet this data is often unavailable in robotics, where a policy is deployed as weights only and its training data is not shared along with it.

ForeTac: Predictive Contact Guidance for Generative Robot Policies

Zhiyuan Chen, Shuai Chen, Haoran Zhou, Yizhe Zhao, Kaiyuan Yang, Zhixiang Duan, Shaoqing Xu, Ran Cao, Diyun Xiang, Yangwei You

Visually similar actions can produce contact loss, jamming, slippage, or irreversible damage, while tactile feedback may arrive after a critical transition. Contact-rich manipulation therefore requires generative policies to anticipate and evaluate whether candidate actions will produce desirable contact outcomes, then adjust action generation before execution.

Breaking the Average: Overcoming Convergent Defaults in Robotic Manipulation via Diagnostic Chain-of-Thought and Structured Guidance

Mohammed Daba, Waleed Abdulrahman Saleh AlAkwa

Recent Vision-Language-Action (VLA) models, such as $π_{0.5}$, have demonstrated impressive generalization capabilities by scaling behavior cloning across massive datasets. However, these models frequently suffer from distributional convergence, a phenomenon where the policy regresses to "safe" but suboptimal mean behaviors due to mode averaging in the training data.

Assessing the Quality of Concrete Scenarios Generated from Scenario Classes for Automated Driving

Lina Putze, Thies de Graaff, Jan Steffen Becker, Christian Neurohr

A scenario-based development approach has become state of the art for automated driving systems. Once a set of scenario classes covering the operational design domain is available, concrete scenarios are generated from these scenario classes, e.g., to be used for hazard analysis and risk assessment or for the system's verification and validation.

The Human--VLA Communication Gap: What Humans Leave Implicit and What Policies Cannot Recover

Yiqing Xu, Jiajun Wu

A robot may know how to perform a task yet fail when a human asks for it naturally. We study this human--VLA communication gap by separating an \emph{information gap}, where task semantics, grounding, or event structure remain unresolved, from a residual \emph{execution gap}, where even a fully specified task depends on how it is organized and invoked.

HelpMeOut: A Neuropsychology-Grounded Benchmark for Error-Aware Monitoring of Household Task Execution

Haoran Wang, Jingwei Huang, Anqing Duan, Ho Seok Ahn, Bruce Macdonald

We introduce HelpMeOut, an embodied AI benchmark for error-aware monitoring of household task execution. Existing embodied household benchmarks typically assume that humans execute tasks correctly, but this assumption does not hold for cognitively impaired persons or older adults whose everyday activities produce structured execution errors.

FlowVLA: Enabling World Dynamics Understanding through Pluggable 3D Flow Learning

Junhyeong Go, Mingyu Jung, Woobin Im, Jongbin Ryu

Recent advances in 3D reconstruction enable the extraction of temporally consistent 3D motion from RGB observations; however, current Vision-Language-Action (VLA) models still predominantly rely on 2D image-text priors. Therefore, they do not accurately represent the fundamental dynamics of the 3D world associated with physical actions.

Extending Wire-Driven Parallel Robots to Multi-Floating-Link Systems with an Inter-Body Wire

Shintaro Inoue, Kento Kawaharazuka, Temma Suzuki, Sota Yuzaki, Keita Yoneda, Kei Okada

Parallel wire-driven systems are a framework in which multiple wires are connected to an end effector, and the end effector is driven by the tensions of those wires. Because they can transmit large forces, up to the breaking strength of the wires, over lengths on the order of several tens of meters, they can realize powerful actuation in large workspaces.

Constrained Differentiable Policy Learning for Safe Quadrotor Navigation

Yan Rui Tan, Praveen Krishnapur, Zeyu Feng, Han Bao, Yew-Soon Ong, Fan Shi

Differentiable simulation enables efficient policy optimization through analytic gradients, yet safety is commonly incorporated as a weighted penalty, requiring manual tuning of the trade-off between task performance and constraint satisfaction. We instead formulate obstacle avoidance as an explicit constraint and train quadrotor policies using primal--dual gradient descent--ascent through a differentiable simulator.

One-Shot Learning for Double-Shot Latte Art: Adapting Cobot Pouring Skills with Dynamic Movement Primitives

Zain Khan, Victor Hernandez Moreno, Dinh Tung Le

Latte art is a complex task requiring dexterity and precision, making it a challenging and commercially relevant task. A one-shot learning system is employed in which a single barista demonstration is segmented into five functionally distinct phases, each encoded as an independent Cartesian Dynamic Movement Primitive (CDMP) with its own parameters.

Directional Pullback Regularization for Long-Horizon Rollout of Latent World Models in Autonomous Driving

Shatadal Mishra, Ahmadreza Moradipari, Nejib Ammar

Learned world models for autonomous driving operate in unconstrained latent spaces, yet the physical systems they represent are governed by strict non-holonomic constraints: ground vehicles cannot realize instantaneous pure lateral motion. We study long-horizon latent rollout modeling for autonomous driving and ask whether rollout quality can be improved by assigning a motion-aware geometry to latent transitions, rather than by redesigning the predictor architecture.

PathLift: Depth-Conditioned Metric Lifting for Visual-Navigation Priors

Gwanjun Shin, Hyeongseok Suh, Hongmo Jung, Jongwoo Lim

Generalist visual-navigation policies tell a robot which direction to go but not how far. A separate lifting step is needed at deployment to convert their unitless trajectory into a metric path that a controller can track; existing scalar lifters apply uniform scaling that misses per-waypoint corrections, while in-policy approaches that inject monocular depth into the policy inherit the prediction errors of the depth model near obstacles and at close range.

MSC: Multi-Stage Caster-aware Control Framework with Uncertainty-Aware NMPC and RL-based Execution Layer

Jinho Park, Jeongtae Lee, Jeonghyeok Lim, Keun Ha Choi, Kyung-Soo Kim

Freely swiveling casters are widely adopted in industrial AMRs/SDVs for their mechanical simplicity and load capacity. However, caster misalignment during low-speed or high-curvature maneuvers induces strong contact nonlinearities, widening the planning-execution gap between commanded $(v, ω)$ and realized motion.

Multimodal Sensor-Gated Mid-Air Launch and Vision-Based Recovery of a Child UAV on a Hovering Mothership Drone

Aashish Sahu, R. Prasanth Kumar

Launching a micro unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) from a hovering carrier and recovering it in flight requires reliable confirmation that the child is securely seated before the carrier is allowed to descend. This is challenging because vision provides relative guidance but does not directly indicate load transfer, and a downward-facing camera can lose its fiducial near touchdown.

Harnessing SPAD Noise: Test-Time Gated Attention for Indoor Depth Estimation

Yiquan Gao

Monocular depth estimation (MDE) has emerged as a cost-effective alternative to hardware-dependent 3D sensing modalities, yet predicting precise metric depth remains a persistent challenge due to intrinsic scale ambiguity, edge bleeding, and limited zero-shot generalization in unseen environments. Recent multi-modal approaches incorporate 1D/3D Single-Photon Avalanche Diode (SPAD) data to resolve these ambiguities, but they mainly treat SPAD noise as a harmful artifact required for denoising or leave the noise ignored.
