Twinny, the Daejeon maker of autonomous mobile robots, said on Oct 15 that it has signed a memorandum of understanding with The Prime Group, a logistics automation integrator built around autonomous forklifts, to commercialise driverless forklifts for warehouses and factories together, Industry News reported.

The partners will start with floor-level pallet transport inside distribution centres, the repetitive job of moving pallets from one spot on the floor to another; Twinny brings its navigation software, which the company says runs in large indoor sites without added guidance infrastructure, and The Prime Group brings process design, installation and operation plus what it calls physical-AI perception for loading and handling.

Roles, scope and commercial terms are still to be negotiated, the companies said, and no customer or volume was named. The deal comes a month after Twinny sold about KRW 19.8 billion of new shares at KRW 14,355 each ahead of a planned KOSDAQ listing, a round reported at a KRW 204.4 billion post-money valuation, as MEKAWIRE reported on Sept 14.

Good or bad news for the company?
