CoEvolve: Self-Evolving Code Policies from Skills to Strategies for Humanoid Robots
Two simulated Unitree G1 humanoids carried a loose 0.5 kg payload through tight corridors to the end in 8 of 15 runs when a foundation model wrote and rewrote their teamwork as code, while four adapted multi-robot and code-policy baselines finished none of their 20 runs, according to a preprint from Peking University, Renmin University, BAAI and Beijing XYZ Embodied AI. Every one of the three model families tested, GPT-5.4-mini, Gemini-3.5-Flash and Claude-Sonnet-4.6, completed the task at least twice.
