TeamGRIT finishes police field trials landing a drone on a quadruped robot's back

TeamGRIT, a Seongnam robot operations software startup, said on Oct 23 that it has completed three rounds of field trials between August and October for the forensic science unit of the Gyeonggi Nambu Provincial Police Agency, in which one platform ran a quadruped robot and a drone together, according to the company statement reported by Money Today. The trials covered remote operation in areas without mobile coverage, live collection of temperature, humidity and CO2 readings from sensors on the robot, and a mission in which the drone lands precisely on the robot's back, is held by an electromagnet while the robot crosses rough ground, then takes off to scout a hazardous site the robot has entered first. The company said the results were shared with Korean police and fire officials at a public-safety robot training course run by Sungkyunkwan University professor Moon Hyungpil with experts from NIST and the Winnipeg Police Service. MEKAWIRE context: TeamGRIT's own timeline lists its CoBiz platform as put into live use by the national police forensic headquarters in March 2026, and the trial comes as Korea's police plan a KRW 45bn patrol robot budget for 2027 covering 300 units; the drone-on-robot docking figure has not been published by the police agency itself.
