Equinor ASA is a Norwegian energy company that operates oil and gas fields and processing plants on the Norwegian continental shelf, including the Kårstø gas processing plant in Tysvær. In robotics it is a buyer and test host: in October 2026 it opened the Kårstø Marine Robotics Centre (KNARR) with Gassco to test subsea drones, robots and unmanned vessels on live infrastructure, and it is among the first customers of ANYbotics' explosion-proof ANYmal X inspection robot. It says underwater robots and autonomous vessels could save it several hundred million Norwegian kroner a year.
