About

Kassow Robots traces its start to 2015, when founder Kristian Kassow began building robots in a Copenhagen basement; he still runs the business as chief executive and co-owner. The legal entity, Kassow Robots ApS, has been on the Danish CVR register since January 2013 and is now based in Kastrup near Copenhagen, with software development in Prague and an office in Ulm, Germany. The company makes lightweight seven-axis cobots aimed at smaller factories. It first showed them publicly at Automatica in Munich in 2018 and rounded out its KR range in 2020 with five arms, the KR810, KR1018, KR1205, KR1410 and KR1805, which reach 850 to 1,800 millimetres and carry 5 to 18 kilograms. In April 2024 it added Edge Edition models with the controller built into the robot base. Bosch Rexroth said on 21 March 2022 that it would buy a majority stake, keeping the price confidential and making the deal subject to antitrust approval; Kassow then had about 25 staff. Since 29 April 2022 the CVR register has listed Robert Bosch Investment Nederland B.V. as holding between two thirds and 90 percent of the shares, with Kassow Holding ApS keeping 20 to 25 percent.
