Yamazaki Mazak picks Japanese AI firm ABEJA to build physical-AI agents and robot training for its machine tools

ABEJA said in a press release on Oct 16 that it has started joint development with machine-tool maker Yamazaki Mazak on three things: an AI agent that drafts machining process plans, an agent that rebuilds production schedules, and a robot behaviour-learning environment built on Mazak's shop-floor data. The tools are meant to end up inside Mazak machines and automation systems. No financial terms or dates were disclosed.
