ForkCast: Predictive Recovery for Vision-Language-Action Policies via Counterfactual Futures

Chenru Wen, Huajian Zeng, Haokai Ding, Jian Kang, Anqing Duan, Dawei Zhou, Dezhen Song, Xingxing Zuo

Vision-language-action (VLA) policies perform manipulation tasks using camera images and language instructions, but object slip or visual occlusion can disrupt execution. Recovery is typically learned during policy training or delegated to a monitor that triggers a scripted repair after detecting a failure.

EmbodiedEvo: Self-improving Coding Agents for Physical Intelligence

Wenyi Li, Yizhe Chi, Youjie Zheng, Chunyu Liu, Xiaoqiu Wang, Mingju Gao, Zheng Jiang, Deyao Hong, Calvin Xiao, Kaisen Yang, Qinhuai Na

Bringing general-purpose agents into the physical world calls for an executable representation of physical intelligence. Compared with vision-language-action (VLA) models, which map observations and language instructions directly to actions, code makes control logic explicit and reusable.

EqC: Equilibrium Energy Control for Introspective Lifelong Robot Learning

Haodong Yang, Runhan Huang, Bowen Zhang, Iofai Lei, Zunzhe Zhang, Xiangcheng Zhang, Shaoting Zhu, Linzhan Mou, Yicheng Liu, Hang Zhao

Long-term robot autonomy depends on more than effective action generation: a policy must recognize when its behavior is no longer sufficiently supported and use assistance to improve. We introduce Equilibrium Energy Control (EqC), a framework for introspective lifelong robot learning built around an explicit conditional energy landscape.

WoVR+: World Model as Reliable Simulator for Versatile VLA Policy Optimization with RL

Shangqing Zhou, Zhennan Jiang, Ning Ma, Xin Fu, Yupeng Zheng, Shuai Tian, Huangrui Li, Jiahao Liu, Chao Yu, Zhongpu Xia, Haoran Li, Dongbin Zhao

Action-conditioned world models can reduce costly real-robot interaction in reinforcement learning for Vision-Language-Action models (VLA-RL), but hallucinations can mislead policy optimization. Extending them to richer VLA interfaces and long-horizon tasks raises challenges in spatiotemporal and cross-modal consistency, exploration-reliability balance in RL, and compounding rollout errors.

WAVE-0: Bridging VLA Policies and WAMs with Lightweight Latent Future Prediction

Haomin Wang, Anqiong Ji, Ke Wang, Zhongshan Liu, Ru Ying, Ran Zheng, Zhipeng Zhang

Vision-language-action (VLA) policies excel at generalist robotic manipulation but generate actions without explicitly modeling their environmental consequences. World action models (WAMs) incorporate future prediction, yet most rely on costly video generation, while latent alternatives either use predicted futures only as auxiliary targets or infer latent actions from suboptimal visual transitions through costly large-scale video pretraining.

Benchmarking Interaction-Oriented Aerial Mobility across Heterogeneous Environments

Zhibo Duan, Hanlin Kong, Tianran Ma, Yuze Wu, Yuxuan Xu, Kenghou Hoi, Changheng Xie, Xin Zhou, Jianzhe Gao, Fei Gao, Wenguan Wang

Aerial mobile manipulation requires unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) to traverse heterogeneous environments such as indoor and outdoor domains, and connect navigation with subsequent physical interaction within the same trajectories. Existing aerial benchmarks are typically confined to single-environment settings, limiting evaluation of agents across continuous environmental transitions.

ChunkAct: Action Chunking for Agentic Robotics

Bingxin Xu, Wenrui Bao, Xinxin Liu, Jiawei Zhou, Yuzhang Shang, Emilio Ferrara

Agentic robotics places a large language model (LLM) agent in the robot control loop, where it composes perception, motion, and vision-language-action (VLA) tools under the guidance of a memory and thereby generalizes to new tasks without retraining. This generality comes at a steep price in efficiency.

What Matters in Quality-Aware VLA Pretraining: A Benchmark and Empirical Study

Mingxuan Yan, Litian Gong, Dihong Huang, Zhixu Li, Tianyu Zhang, Wenqian Zhang, Hefeifei Jiang, Peihao Li, Jian Zhang, Mengfei Zhao, Yikai Tang, Hai Zhai, Zehao Wang, Ruijian Liang, Yanjia Huang, Lin Shao, Changliu Liu, Kaiyu Hang, Zhiwen Fan, Masayoshi Tomizuka

How should demonstration quality be used during vision-language-action (VLA) pretraining to improve performance after target-task fine-tuning? We compare weighting, filtering, and conditioning across reward definitions and label granularities using 5,000 naturally suboptimal human demonstrations and 24 target tasks.

Interaction Latents as Actions for Contact-Rich Manipulation

Yuhang Zheng, Yujie Zang, Yuchen Liu, Yupeng Zheng, Zhennan Jiang, Zebin Xing, Shuai Tian, Songen Gu, Jingxiang Guo, Chen Gao, Zhongpu Xia, Shuicheng Yan

Contact-rich manipulation requires robots to coordinate not only where to move, but also how contact and force should evolve throughout an interaction. Yet most robot policies represent actions primarily as motion trajectories, using tactile signals as inputs or auxiliary prediction targets without explicitly encoding contact dynamics in the action representation.

LIBERO-RIG: A Hardware-Setup Robustness Benchmark for Vision-Language-Action Models

Andrea Yaoyun Cui, Hanyu Wang, Xinyi Wang, Bangzheng Li, Lin Zhang, Zhenggang Tang, Shyamal Buch, Dejia Xu, Matthew Tancik

Robot policies are expected to generalize across deployment environments, including variations in the robot itself: cameras are bumped and remounted, calibrations drift, controllers run at different rates, and end-effector pads wear down. We present LIBERO-RIG, a benchmark that perturbs only the robot's hardware and setup while holding every LIBERO task fixed.

Breaking the Average: Overcoming Convergent Defaults in Robotic Manipulation via Diagnostic Chain-of-Thought and Structured Guidance

Mohammed Daba, Waleed Abdulrahman Saleh AlAkwa

Recent Vision-Language-Action (VLA) models, such as $π_{0.5}$, have demonstrated impressive generalization capabilities by scaling behavior cloning across massive datasets. However, these models frequently suffer from distributional convergence, a phenomenon where the policy regresses to "safe" but suboptimal mean behaviors due to mode averaging in the training data.

The Human--VLA Communication Gap: What Humans Leave Implicit and What Policies Cannot Recover

Yiqing Xu, Jiajun Wu

A robot may know how to perform a task yet fail when a human asks for it naturally. We study this human--VLA communication gap by separating an \emph{information gap}, where task semantics, grounding, or event structure remain unresolved, from a residual \emph{execution gap}, where even a fully specified task depends on how it is organized and invoked.

FlowVLA: Enabling World Dynamics Understanding through Pluggable 3D Flow Learning

Junhyeong Go, Mingyu Jung, Woobin Im, Jongbin Ryu

Recent advances in 3D reconstruction enable the extraction of temporally consistent 3D motion from RGB observations; however, current Vision-Language-Action (VLA) models still predominantly rely on 2D image-text priors. Therefore, they do not accurately represent the fundamental dynamics of the 3D world associated with physical actions.

CoLA: Multi-VLA Coordination via Learned Adapters

Ahaskar Kashyap, Jiawen Zong, Boyu Ma, Chuhao Zhou, Jingliang Li, Stefano V. Albrecht, Jianfei Yang

Vision-Language-Action (VLA) models are typically deployed as isolated single-agent policies. When several such agents share a workspace, they can coordinate implicitly, by observing one another, or explicitly, by exchanging messages, but it remains unclear when explicit communication becomes necessary.

Recovering Low-Bit Failures in Vision-Language-Action Policies via Quantization-Conditioned Reinforcement Learning

Seongmin Park, Jaewon Lee, Yujun Heo, Yoonsik Kim, Seheon Choi, Hyoung-rock Kim, Jungwook Choi

Quantization lowers deployment costs of vision-language-action (VLA) policies but can compromise task completion. Across five VLA models and 4,050 real-world trials, we systematically reveal that quantization-aware training (QAT) generally improves on post-training quantization (PTQ) but leaves substantial gaps to full precision (FP) on long-horizon tasks and under visual and semantic shifts, while its imitation-based objective does not explicitly use rollout success or partial completion.

Vision-Predictor-Action: Towards Efficient Embodied AI via Neuro-Symbolic JEPA Predictors

Yeonseok Lee

Vision-Language-Action (VLA) models commonly generate robot actions token by token through Large Language Model (LLM) decoders, causing inference latency to grow with action sequence length and limiting closed-loop control frequency. We present Goal-Conditioned Vision-Predictor-Action (VPA), which replaces autoregressive decoders with a lightweight latent control loop.

RESCUE: Is This Alarm Worth Acting On? Counterfactual Evaluation of VLA Runtime Monitors

David Ahmedt-Aristizabal, Abdelwahed Khamis, Mohammad Ali Armin, Lars Petersson

Runtime failure monitors for robot policies are typically evaluated by how accurately they distinguish failed from successful executions. Yet an accurate alarm may arrive too late for recovery, while an unnecessary intervention may disrupt an execution that would otherwise succeed.
