Brils to build forklift and low-profile AMRs at its Michigan unit as US tightens rules on foreign robots
Korean robot maker Brils plans to start production at its Michigan subsidiary, BRILS USA LLC, with forklift-type and low-profile autonomous mobile robots before adding physical-AI robots, the company said on Oct 16, according to an Electronic Times (etnews) report.
Brils said it will raise the share of US-sourced parts through local partners to address tighter US rules on foreign advanced robots and supply-chain and security risks, will also offer its BRILS S/W Navigation software and fleet management system in North America, and is in talks with EV and auto-parts makers in the Rust Belt; the paper put Brils's first-half US exports at about $3.71 million and cumulative North American exports at about $15.04 million, figures the company has not published itself.
Brils's own website confirms the subsidiary was set up in April 2026 in Kentwood, near Grand Rapids, and that the company listed on KOSDAQ on Oct 1. Its US-first plan contrasts with Holiday Robotics, which MEKAWIRE reported on Oct 15 is building a 100-unit-a-year humanoid line in Seoul.
