Hyundai AutoEver said in a release on the Hyundai Motor Group newsroom on Oct 22 that it is showing a public-safety package at the 2026 International Police Expo, which opened in Incheon on Oct 21, that combines a patrol robot, AI video analysis and a control-room platform.

The robot is built on MobED, the four-wheel mobile platform from the Hyundai Motor and Kia Robotics Lab: it runs scheduled patrols and streams video to the control platform when it detects something abnormal, where AI analyses the footage for the operator.

The MobED Pro base carries two lidars and three depth cameras for indoor and outdoor obstacle detection, adjusts body height and tilt through its eccentric drive-and-lift wheels and stays balanced over curbs up to 20 cm.

Hyundai AutoEver said it will act as the system integrator from site planning and installation to operations, control and maintenance; it gave no customer, price or deployment date. MEKAWIRE context: the robot enters a crowded Korean field, where Neubility, Intellivix, Maum AI and Robotis AI already sell patrol units, as covered in MEKAWIRE's Oct 19 explainer on Korea's patrol robot makers, and a ZDNet Korea report not yet confirmed by the police says the 2027 budget would put patrol robots in all 280 police offices.

Good or bad news for the company?
