The New York State Office for the Aging has signed a new three-year, $2.1 million agreement with Intuition Robotics to keep supplying the ElliQ AI companion to older New Yorkers at risk of isolation, The Robot Report reported on Oct 13, quoting NYSOFA director Greg Olsen and Intuition chief executive Dor Skuler; no state or company release was found.

The program has placed ElliQ with hundreds of people since 2022, more than 3,500 applied in 2025 alone, and Intuition said 2026 program data show users interacting with the device 48 times a day on average, up from 29, with 94% reporting less loneliness, figures that are the company's own.

The Ramat Gan, Israel company runs similar state programs in Wisconsin, Florida and Washington. The contract is comparable in size to the $2.54 million grant Hello Robot, maker of the Stretch home and care-setting manipulator, received in January 2023, according to MEKAWIRE's funding records.

Good or bad news for the company?
