Angel Robotics said in a regulatory filing on Oct 16 that chief executive Cho Nam-min had resigned as CEO and inside director for personal reasons, and that a board meeting the same day appointed founder and board chair Kong Kyung-chul as sole chief executive.

Kong, who also teaches mechanical engineering at KAIST, founded the KOSDAQ-listed wearable-robot maker in February 2017 and ran it until Oct 16, 2024; the filing lists him as largest shareholder with 3,467,560 shares, or 22.53%.

The company keeps a single-CEO structure, the filing said, and gave no other reason for the change. The founder's return comes eight days after Angel Robotics became the first company in the Public Procurement Service's Innovative Procurement Top Tier scheme, as MEKAWIRE reported on Oct 8, and as its best-funded private rival WIRobotics steers new capital from wearables toward humanoids.

Good or bad news for the company?
