Seegrid
Pittsburgh maker of vision-guided autonomous mobile robots, lift trucks and tow tractors for material handling.
Seegrid Corporation was founded in 2003 by roboticist Hans Moravec and is based in Pittsburgh. It builds autonomous mobile robots for material handling, including the Lift EL1, Lift RS1 and Lift CR1 lift trucks and the Tow Tractor S7, along with Fleet Central fleet management software. In August 2016 the company announced $25 million in additional financing, of which $12 million had been raised and $13 million committed, with majority shareholder Giant Eagle participating; that round is not stored as an amount because part of it was only committed. On 15 September 2020 Seegrid said it had closed a $52 million growth equity round led by G2VP, which had funded the first $25 million announced on 31 March 2020, bringing total funding to more than $150 million at a valuation the company said exceeded $400 million.
