Forestry robotics company Kodama said in a GlobeNewswire press release on Oct 19 that it raised $7 million in a round co-led by Konvoy Ventures and Breakwater Ventures, bringing its total funding to $14 million.

Blue Forest Asset Management, NYA Ventures, Breakthrough Energy Ventures, Congruent Ventures, Dangerous Ventures and M1C also took part; Kodama did not name the round or give a valuation. The company pairs teleoperation with supervised autonomy, so machines repeat routine moves while experienced operators handle hard work and edge cases from a remote station, and it said equipment fitted with its system moved more than 100,000 tons of timber across several southeastern US states over the past six months.

The money will fund more commercial deployments, deeper work with equipment manufacturers and autonomy for rough off-road ground, the company said. MEKAWIRE context: the round is just under half the $15 million Series A that orchard-autonomy developer Bonsai Robotics, another Congruent Ventures holding, raised in January 2025, and Breakthrough Energy Ventures' previous robotics deal in our database is Iron Ox's $53 million Series C in 2021.

Good or bad news for the company?
