KOSDAQ-listed OA buys 24% of logistics-robot startup PyBrain AI for KRW 650 million and tests its packing robot in Pohang
KOSDAQ-listed consumer-electronics company OA said its board approved on Oct 7 an investment of KRW 650.32 million in PyBrain AI, a logistics-robot maker founded in August 2025, buying 36,667 new common shares in a third-party allotment for a 24.07% stake, Robot Newspaper (irobotnews) reported on Oct 14; no company release or filing was found, so the figures are unconfirmed.
According to the report, the price of KRW 17,736 per share came from a discounted-cash-flow valuation by Dowon Accounting, payment is due Oct 23, and OA is already trialling PyBrain's vision-AI packing robot Py PACKR at its Pohang fulfilment centre alongside the lidar-guided picking robot Py PICKR, while PyBrain develops a container-unloading robot, Py LOADR.
OA said it holds the stake for long-term cooperation and will ask shareholders on Nov 26 to rename the company OATOX and add robotics and automation to its business purposes. By MEKAWIRE's calculation from the reported terms (KRW 650.32 million divided by 24.07%), the deal implies a post-money value of about KRW 2.7 billion for PyBrain; it is the second Korean container-unloading robot developer in our coverage this week after Roboe Technology's MOROW.
