Cerence AI
Nasdaq-listed US supplier of conversational and voice AI for cars, now extending its software to robots
- Cerence takes its in-car voice AI into Geely's robots and shows a humanoid at the Paris Motor Show
Cerence AI said in a press release on Oct 15 that its work with Geely is moving from intelligent cockpits into service robotics, with the two companies developing multilingual human-machine interaction for robots. The partners are demonstrating a humanoid robot at the Paris Motor Show, which Cerence described as the first international showing of the collaboration. Its speech recognition handles French, English and Mandarin at the same time, so a user can switch language mid-conversation, the company said. The release gives no financial terms, deployment timeline, unit numbers or details of the humanoid itself, and does not say who builds it. Nasdaq-listed Cerence says more than 525 million cars have shipped with its technology, which makes the robot work a test of whether an automotive voice stack carries over to machines that move among people. Geely is the second Chinese carmaker with a humanoid programme in MEKAWIRE's coverage, after XPENG, whose IRON robot we reported in November 2025 with a stated 2026 mass-production target.
