CYBERDYNE was established on June 24, 2004 and is headquartered in Gakuen-minami, Tsukuba, Ibaraki prefecture, with Yoshiyuki Sankai as president and chief executive. Its core product is HAL, a wearable cyborg, and the company groups its business into medical and health innovation and life innovation lines that combine medicine with AI and robotics under the label of cybernics. It listed on the Tokyo Stock Exchange on March 26, 2014 under code 7779 and now trades on the TSE Growth market, with 137,445,809 shares issued as of March 31, 2026. CYBERDYNE was also one of the first outside investors in the cloud robotics startup Rapyuta Robotics in 2015.
