Wandercraft
Paris company behind the self-balancing Atalante X and Eve exoskeletons, now also building the Calvin-40 humanoid for factories.
Wandercraft was founded in 2012 and is based in Paris, with a U.S. headquarters in New York. It builds walking robots that keep their own balance. Its first product, the Atalante X, is a rehabilitation exoskeleton used for gait training in clinics, and the company said in June 2025 that it was in use at more than 100 hospitals and rehabilitation centres. In August 2026 the U.S. Food and Drug Administration cleared Eve, a self-balancing exoskeleton for personal use by eligible wheelchair users with spinal cord injuries, and Wandercraft launched it in September 2026. It is also developing Calvin-40, a humanoid robot for industrial work, and said in September 2026 that it had signed 12 industrial customers for it. On 3 April 2024 the company announced a loan of EUR 25 million from the European Investment Bank, backed by the InvestEU guarantee, to fund the personal exoskeleton and wider access to Atalante X. On 11 June 2025 it announced $75 million in funding and financing as part of its Series D. The company named Renault Group, the PSIM fund that Bpifrance manages for the French State under France 2030, Teampact Ventures and Quadrant Management as the main contributors, with LBO France, Mutuelles Impact, Cemag Invest, Martagon Capital and AG2R LA MONDIALE also taking part. It did not describe any investor as the lead. The company said the money would bring Eve to market, widen clinical use of Atalante X and develop and deploy Calvin-40.
