Agility Robotics said on Oct 22 that the general-availability version of its Digit 5 humanoid will run all onboard compute on NVIDIA IGX Thor modules, making NVIDIA its exclusive compute supplier. Agility is also folding IGX Thor and more NVIDIA Halos safety models into its own human-detection system and will put Digit through NVIDIA's Halos AI Systems Inspection Lab before third-party certification.

Early access to Digit 5 is planned for the first half of 2027, with wider availability over the following six to nine months, as Agility heads for its Nasdaq listing as AGLT through Churchill Capital Corp XI.

Agility Robotics said on Oct 22 that Digit 5, the next version of its warehouse humanoid, will run all of its onboard computing on NVIDIA IGX Thor modules, and that NVIDIA will be the exclusive onboard compute provider for the robot's general-availability version. The Salem, Oregon company announced the change in a press release as it prepares Digit 5 for wider commercial deployment.

The announcement ties compute to safety. Agility is integrating IGX Thor and additional models from NVIDIA Halos, NVIDIA's safety platform for physical AI, into its own safe human detection system, which decides how the robot behaves when people come close. It will also take part in the NVIDIA Halos AI Systems Inspection Lab, where Digit's safety-related software, AI components and cybersecurity protections are to be evaluated ahead of final third-party certification. Agility said it was the first company to announce with NVIDIA that it would build elements of Halos into its safety system.

Dates and the listing

Agility expects early access to Digit 5 to start in the first half of 2027, with availability growing over the following six to nine months for manufacturing, warehouse and distribution operators. The release repeats that the merger with Churchill Capital Corp XI is expected to close in the fourth quarter of 2026, after which the company will trade on Nasdaq as AGLT; the registration statement became effective on Oct 13. Agility gave no price for Digit 5 and no value for the NVIDIA arrangement.

Why a single compute supplier matters

Standardising on one module family simplifies software, spare parts and certification for a robot that must pass functional-safety review before it works near people. The trade-off is dependency: with NVIDIA as exclusive supplier, Digit 5's cost and delivery schedule are tied to one vendor's module pricing and supply. Our [Agility explainer](/news/what-is-agility-robotics-digit-5-funding-spac-listing-aglt-customers-explained-20261016) covers the company's customers and SPAC terms; on Oct 21 Agility announced a 50,000 sq ft Pittsburgh facility and four new Digit customers ([story](/news/agility-robotics-pittsburgh-50000-sq-ft-facility-four-new-digit-customers-east-coast-service-center-20261021)). The same day as this release, safety supplier [FORT Robotics](/companies/fort-robotics), which lists Agility as a customer, disclosed new funding ahead of its own SPAC listing.

What to watch: whether the first early-access units ship in the first half of 2027 as planned, the outcome of the Halos inspection and third-party certification, and the Churchill XI shareholder vote. Company pages: [Agility Robotics](/companies/agility-robotics), [NVIDIA](/companies/nvidia).
