Daegu Technopark, the Daegu-Gyeongbuk Robot Business Promotion Association, the Daegu-Gyeongbuk ICT industry association, the Korea IT Women Business Association, Kyungpook National University and Daegu Haany University signed a cooperation agreement with the Shanghai Robot Industrial Technology Research Institute on Oct 14 at the Daegu pavilion of the China International Industry Fair (CIIF 2026) in Shanghai, Robot Newspaper (irobotnews) reported, citing the robot association, which supplied the photo.

The seven parties agreed to cooperate on AI and robot technology innovation and on technology validation and testing, with the aim of expanding industrial exchange between the two countries; the report gave no budget, projects or timeline.

The agreement links a Korean region that the government designated a specialised robotics zone, as MEKAWIRE reported on Sept 30, with a state-backed Shanghai research institute, at the same CIIF show where NeodraDynamics displayed its 4-metre hydraulic humanoid.

Good or bad news for the company?
