Holiday Robotics starts building its FRIDAY humanoid on a Seoul line sized for about 100 a year
Seoul startup Holiday Robotics has begun producing its FRIDAY industrial humanoid on its own line in the city's Seongsu district, with capacity of about 100 units a year and about 10 robots finished or in assembly, Edaily reported on Oct 15 citing the company; Holiday Robotics has not published a release, so the figures are unconfirmed.
According to the report, the company aims to build two robots a week, has moved from one-off builds to repeated production of a stable design, is looking for a larger site, and is running proofs of concept with companies in logistics, semiconductors and auto parts, with field deployment planned from next year.
FRIDAY pairs a wheeled base with two arms and hands; the company's website describes it as a dexterous industrial humanoid with 64 degrees of freedom. Holiday Robotics raised a $105 million Series A in July, the largest humanoid round by a Korean startup in MEKAWIRE's data, and is one of the developers in the trade ministry's industry-specific humanoid project, building a robot with SK Energy that operates valves in toxic-gas areas with full deployment targeted for 2028.
