Korean OT-security firm SSenStone has joined a Ministry of Science and ICT and NIPA research project on multi-layer security for physical-AI collaborative-intelligence systems as a co-developer, the company said on Oct 16, according to a report by the Electronic Times (etnews); MEKAWIRE could not find the company's own release, so the details are as reported.

Working with lead organisation RaonSecure, Jeonbuk National University and Sogang University, SSenStone will handle operational-technology security for unmanned dark factories, using its one-time authentication code (OTAC) technology to identify and authenticate people, devices and control commands and to block unauthorised commands before they move equipment, without large-scale replacement of existing machines.

No budget or timeline was disclosed. The project belongs to the same MSIT physical-AI collaborative-intelligence programme family under which KT said on Oct 14 it is piloting a dark-factory platform with KAIST and Daim Research.

Good or bad news for the company?
