Schaeffler signs on as both actuator supplier and customer of London's Humanoid, planning several hundred robots in its plants over five years

Schaeffler and UK start-up Humanoid agreed on 13 January 2026 a five-year technology partnership that combines a supply contract for Schaeffler strain wave gear actuators with a purchase arrangement for humanoid robots. The German motion technology group said it would integrate several hundred humanoids into its global production network, and within a week Humanoid published pilot results from Siemens in Erlangen and Ford in Cologne.

Hyundai Mobis wins first robotics customer as Atlas actuator supplier to Boston Dynamics

Hyundai Mobis will supply actuators for the production version of Boston Dynamics' Atlas humanoid under a framework announced at CES on January 7, 2026, its first robotics customer. The Hyundai parts maker says actuators make up more than 60% of a humanoid's material cost, and plans to extend the tie-up to grippers, sensors, controllers and battery packs as Hyundai Motor Group targets 30,000 robots a year by 2028.

1X will offer up to 10,000 NEO humanoids to EQT's 300-plus portfolio companies by 2030, sending its home robot into industry

1X Technologies said on 11 December 2025 that it would make up to 10,000 NEO humanoid robots available to companies owned by its investor EQT between 2026 and 2030. Pilots start in the United States in 2026 before scaling into Europe and Asia, with each portfolio company deciding whether and how to deploy. No prices or binding order volumes were disclosed.

Schaeffler will build humanoid joints for NEURA Robotics and put a mid-four-digit number of its robots into its own plants by 2035

Schaeffler and NEURA Robotics announced on 4 November 2025 that they will jointly develop and supply humanoid components, led by actuators, and signed an offtake agreement under which Schaeffler plans to integrate a mid-four-digit number of humanoids into its global production network by 2035. Schaeffler's planetary gear actuators, rated at up to 250 Nm, are designed for the joints of NEURA's 4NE1 humanoid.

Korea lines up more than 260,000 NVIDIA GPUs as Hyundai, Samsung and SK aim the compute at robots and factories

NVIDIA and South Korea said on 31 October 2025 that more than 260,000 NVIDIA GPUs will go into the government's sovereign cloud and the country's biggest industrial groups. Hyundai Motor Group and NVIDIA put about $3 billion behind a physical AI push that includes virtual testing of humanoid robots, while Samsung and SK plan AI factories with robotics and digital twin workloads.

Figure turns Brookfield's 100,000 homes into a recording studio for humanoid pretraining data

Figure AI said on 17 September 2025 that Brookfield, owner of more than 100,000 residential units, will help it build what it calls the world's largest humanoid pretraining dataset and will explore GPU data center and deployment work, and that Brookfield invested in its Series C.
