About

Cartken develops autonomous delivery robots and the AI-based self-driving software that runs them, and lists San Francisco and Munich as its bases. The company says its team of former Google engineers and operators combines experience in self-driving cars, robotics AI and delivery operations, and Christian Bersch is co-founder and chief executive. By mid-2024 it said it had completed hundreds of thousands of deliveries, averaging 36,000 a month, worked with original equipment manufacturers and biotech, pharmaceutical and chemical companies in the United States, Germany, Denmark and Japan, was integrated with Uber Eats and Grubhub and had recently started operating in Tokyo. On 3 July 2024 it announced $10 million in its latest financing round, led by 468 Capital with Incubate Fund, LDV Partners, Vela Partners, Magna International, Mitsubishi Electric, Shell Ventures and Volex, bringing aggregate funding to $22.5 million. It said the money would deepen enterprise partnerships and advance its self-driving technology for industrial automation and last-mile delivery.
