Fox Robotics
Austin maker of FoxBot autonomous forklifts that load and unload trailers, deployed by DHL Supply Chain and Walmart.
Fox Robotics was founded in 2017 and is based in Austin, Texas. It develops and manufactures the FoxBot, an autonomous forklift that loads and unloads truck trailers, and released the third generation of its autonomous trailer loader, the FoxBot ATL Mk3, in March 2025. In a March 2025 company fact sheet it said it had more than 100 units installed at 54 customer sites across the United States and Canada. DHL Supply Chain was its first customer. On 11 April 2024 Walmart said it was rolling out 19 FoxBot forklifts across four of its high-tech distribution centres after a 16-month proof of concept, and that it had invested growth capital for a minority stake in Fox Robotics. Walmart did not give the amount. According to the fact sheet, the company raised $850,000 from angel investors and a $3 million seed round from Eniac Ventures and SignalFire in 2018, without exact dates. On 27 August 2020 it announced a $9 million Series A led by Menlo Ventures, with Eniac Ventures, La Famiglia, SignalFire, Congruent Ventures and AME Cloud Ventures taking part. On 27 October 2022 it announced a $20 million oversubscribed round led by BMW i Ventures, with new investors Zebra Technologies, Japan Airlines and Translink Innovation Fund and Foothill Ventures, and existing backers Menlo Ventures, Eniac Ventures and SignalFire. The later fact sheet lists that round as a $24 million Series B. Fox said it would use the 2022 money to ramp up production, hire and expand abroad.
