Avatar Robotics
San Francisco start-up that staffs warehouse and factory jobs with humanoid robots run by remote operators and AI.
Avatar Robotics builds humanoid robots for warehouses and factories that are steered by remote human operators and, increasingly, by AI autonomy. The machines take on picking, packing, kitting, sorting, cycle counts and moving materials. The company says it began operating in December 2025 and that its robots had handled more than 900,000 products by August 2026. On 5 August 2026 it announced a $6.5 million seed round led by AlleyCorp, joined by pre-seed lead defy.vc, Headline and several individual backers. Founder and chief executive Colin Webb said the company was widening a deployment with a large warehouse operator after a pilot.
