Kinisi Robotics
Bristol developer of the KR1 wheeled humanoid and its own robot AI models, which Bear Robotics agreed to acquire in June 2026.
Kinisi Robotics is based in Bristol in the United Kingdom and was founded by Brennand Pierce, who is also a co-founder of Bear Robotics. Its KR1 is a wheeled humanoid built to pick, place, sort and move objects in industrial, logistics and hospitality settings. The company develops a vision language action model and a robot foundation model covering imitation learning, reinforcement learning, agentic task control and computer vision, along with its own grippers, end effectors and a low cost glove for recording manipulation demonstrations. Kinisi built on Bear's navigation stack from its early days and is a member of the NVIDIA Inception programme. On June 22, 2026 Bear Robotics announced a definitive agreement to acquire Kinisi, saying the deal was expected to close within days and that Pierce would become Bear's chief robotics officer on closing. Financial terms and any earlier funding rounds were not disclosed.
