Flexion
Zurich startup building a hardware-agnostic autonomy stack for humanoid robots, from language-model task reasoning to whole-body control, trained largely in simulation.
Flexion is a Zurich company with a US office in San Francisco that builds what it calls the autonomy stack for humanoid robots, meant to run across different hardware and tasks covering both manipulation and locomotion. Its co-founder and chief executive is Nikita Rudin, and the company says its team comes from ETH Zurich, NVIDIA, Meta, Google, Tesla and Amazon. The stack has three layers: a command layer that uses language models to reason about tasks, a motion layer with vision-language-action models trained on synthetic data, and a control layer built on transformer-based whole-body control and modular skills. It relies on simulation and reinforcement learning to cut the amount of human work needed to bring software into the real world, and it has published research releases under the Flexion Reflect name, version 0 in November 2025 and version 1.0 in June 2026, as well as work with Niantic Spatial and NVIDIA on closing the gap between simulation and real robots. On 20 November 2025 Flexion said it had raised $50 million in Series A funding from DST Global Partners, NVentures, redalpine, Prosus Ventures and Moonfire, without naming a lead. It said the round followed $7.35 million in seed funding from Frst, Moonfire and redalpine a few months earlier, and that the new money would expand its Zurich R&D team, scale compute and robot fleets, set up a US presence and speed up commercialisation.
