Machenta is a London physical-AI company spun out of the Robot Learning Lab at Imperial College London, founded by Professor Edward Johns (CEO) and his former PhD student Vitalis Vosylius with colleagues from the lab. It builds what it calls a vision-demo-action model: instead of a language instruction, the robot is shown one demonstration of a task and performs it immediately, with no further training. The model is pre-trained entirely on simulated data and builds on the lab's Implicit Graph Alignment (CoRL 2023) and Instant Policy (ICLR 2025) work. In October 2026 it raised a USD 40 million seed round co-led by Creandum and Union Square Ventures; its office and lab are in King's Cross, London.
