- LG Innotek teams with NVIDIA on humanoid vision sensors, shows HSB cameras in Berlin
LG Innotek said in a press release on Oct 22 that it showed a line of sensing products built on NVIDIA's Holoscan Sensor Bridge (HSB) at GTC Berlin on Oct 20, among them a 3-megapixel camera module and a multi-modal vision system that fuses several cameras and sensors. HSB passes sensor data straight to an AI computer without going through a CPU, which the company says lets robots and self-driving cars act on what they see faster. The two companies plan to widen their work to HSB-based vision sensing for humanoid robots and to robot hands, and LG Innotek said it will unveil sensing products that connect to NVIDIA's next-generation platform at CES and GTC next year; it gave no customer, volume or price. MEKAWIRE context: the Korean parts maker (KRX 011070) said it already develops robot components with Boston Dynamics and has started mass-producing camera modules for a North American robotics customer, and the same Berlin conference brought the Isaac Lab 3.0 and reference-humanoid updates MEKAWIRE covered on Oct 21.
