Mantis Robotics makes fenceless industrial robot arms with built-in safety sensing so they can work right next to people.
Mantis Robotics is a Pleasanton, California company working on what it calls physical AI for industrial automation. Its robot arms and its SafetyCore technology are meant to let machines share space with workers without cages, light curtains or other external guarding. Target uses include manufacturing lines and e-commerce fulfillment. In December 2024 it announced 5 million dollars in new investment led by Emerald Technology Ventures with the Amazon Industrial Innovation Fund participating. In August 2026 it added an undisclosed strategic investment from Taiwan's ABICO Group, which also plans to distribute its arms in Taiwan and Japan and to act as a contract manufacturer.
