About

Chef Robotics is a San Francisco company led by founder and chief executive Rajat Bhageria. Its robots run on an AI platform the company calls ChefOS and pick and place ingredients on high-mix food-manufacturing lines; producers rent them under a robotics-as-a-service model. In its Series A announcement of 31 March 2025 the company said its robots had produced more than 44 million servings for customers including Amy's Kitchen, Sunbasket, Chef Bombay and Cafe Spice, that it operated in the United States and Canada, and that it planned to enter the UK in 2025. The $43.1 million round combined $20.6 million in equity, led by Avataar Ventures with Construct Capital, Bloomberg Beta, Promus Ventures, MFV Partners, Interwoven Ventures, HCVC, MaC Venture Capital, Red and Blue Ventures, Tau Partners, Alumni Ventures, Siddhi Capital and BOLD Capital Partners, with $22.5 million in equipment-financing debt. Chef put its total capital raised at about $65.6 million, of which $38.8 million was equity and $26.75 million equipment financing from Silicon Valley Bank, and said the money would go to its AI models, customer deployments, sales and marketing, international expansion and financing robots for its service model.
