HD Hyundai Robotics unveiled an intelligent dual-arm robot at ROBEX 2026 in Daegu, which runs from Oct 21 to 24, the Korean trade daily Robot Newspaper (irobotnews) reported on Oct 21, citing the company; MEKAWIRE did not find a matching release on the company's own newsroom, so the details are unconfirmed.

The robot has two arms and five-fingered hands on a humanoid upper body, a layout chosen for precise hand work rather than mobility, and runs a robot foundation model (RFM) developed in-house that is meant to perceive its surroundings and generate motions without step-by-step programming, according to the report.

The company plans to deploy it first in kitting, then in welding and painting, and to transfer the task skills it learns to its existing industrial and collaborative robots; a wheeled base is planned next and biped walking in the long term.

It also shows its HDC cobot series, a CADless welding solution and the ArcLift GO hand-guided welding cobot. No specifications, price or customer were given. MEKAWIRE context: HD Hyundai Robotics launched three HDC cobots with payloads of up to 50 kg on Jul 1 and backed robot-hand maker AIDIN Robotics' KRW 16bn round in September, as MEKAWIRE reported.

Good or bad news for the company?
