AIDIN Robotics shows force-controlled polishing on HD Hyundai arms at ROBEX 2026
Korean sensor maker AIDIN Robotics said in a release published by Venture Square on Oct 21 that it is demonstrating what it calls force-aware robotics at ROBEX 2026 in Daegu (Oct 21 to 24), polishing a car fender removed from a real vehicle with an HD Hyundai Robotics industrial arm fitted with its six-axis force-torque sensor while holding contact force constant across changing curvature, with force and control data shown live.
The company said the robot hand on HD Hyundai Robotics' new intelligent dual-arm robot, unveiled at the same show, uses its fingertip tactile sensors to adjust grip force, and that the two firms are jointly developing polishing and grinding automation for shipbuilding and heavy industry after HD Hyundai Robotics' KRW 13bn strategic investment in September.
No customer, price or delivery date was given. MEKAWIRE context: we reported on Sep 11 that AIDIN raised KRW 16bn with HD Hyundai Robotics and Samsung Ventures, and the company appears in our Korean robot-parts comparison alongside Wonik Robotics and Tesollo.
