I2O2I-Nav: A Benchmark with a Modular Agent for Long-Horizon Indoor-to-Outdoor-to-Indoor Navigation

Zhengjie Shu, Wanyu Li, Di Xiao, Lingxin Jiang, Lai Jiang, Kaidi Hu, Xincheng Tang, Wenkang Hu, Haoran Wang, Jinchuan Zhang, Chang Chen, Wei Li, Jia Pan, Ruigang Yang

Service and delivery robots often need to complete long-horizon navigation missions spanning indoor and outdoor environments. Existing embodied navigation benchmarks primarily evaluate isolated stages or partial cross-domain journeys, providing limited support for assessing how heterogeneous navigation capabilities compose under continuous execution.

GLST: Global-Local Spatio-Temporal Memory Decomposition Framework for Online Chained-Goal Navigation

Yousef Liang, Ryan Ardalan, Yarden Goraly, Chenhao Zhu, Yue Yin, Jonas Frey, Claire Tomlin, Marco Pavone, Shankar Sastry

Autonomous navigation in real-world environments often requires long-horizon operation under partial observability and evolving goals. Existing mapless navigation approaches predominantly assume fixed goals throughout an episode, limiting applicability to practical scenarios where goals change online during execution.

Autonomous 3D Visual-Thermal Inspection for Utility-Scale Solar Farms

Lachlan Tychsen-Smith, Mark Cox, Brett Wood, David Haddon, Kenrick Anderson, Benjamin Duck, Jim O'Malley, Noel W Duffy, Peyman Moghadam

Utility-scale photovoltaic (PV) inspection is dominated by aerial surveys, which are effective for identifying module-level hot cells but provide limited visibility of critical components located under the array, including connectors, cabling, fasteners and structural elements. These assets are difficult to inspect consistently at scale, and their defects are often spatially small, partially occluded and difficult to localise from isolated images.

SkipWorld: Latent Skip Planning with Distilled World Models for Efficient Visual Navigation

Yifei Yang, Zehua Fan, Zike Yan, Zhongyu Li, Yan Wang

World-model-based visual navigation enables action planning by predicting future states under candidate trajectories. However, long-horizon rollout remains challenging: models are often trained with ground-truth visual histories but deployed in closed-loop prediction, and evaluating many candidates with step-by-step rollout is computationally expensive.

RTISSLAM: In-air Imaging Sonar SLAM using a Robust Pose Graph and Occupancy Grid Mapping

Jan Steckel

Sonar was one of the first sensors with which mobile robots built maps, and in-air sonar keeps working where cameras and lidar fail, in darkness, smoke, dust and next to glass. Classical sonar SLAM, however, relied on geometric features or occupancy grids built from sparse range readings, and both struggle with the specular reflections that dominate indoor sonar.

MemoryVLN: From Ego-Aware Memory Representation to Cross-Context Memory Reuse in Vision-Language Navigation

Xueyao Wei, Yifei Wang, Delun Li, Shaoan Wang, Junzhi Yu, Wenjie Song, Xingyu Chen

Large vision-language models (LVLMs) have shown strong potential for embodied vision-language navigation (VLN), yet their performance degrades on long-horizon trajectories due to context-length limits, redundant historical observations, and unstable spatial alignment across time. These issues make it difficult to both compress long navigation histories and reliably reuse past spatial experience.

Constrained Differentiable Policy Learning for Safe Quadrotor Navigation

Yan Rui Tan, Praveen Krishnapur, Zeyu Feng, Han Bao, Yew-Soon Ong, Fan Shi

Differentiable simulation enables efficient policy optimization through analytic gradients, yet safety is commonly incorporated as a weighted penalty, requiring manual tuning of the trade-off between task performance and constraint satisfaction. We instead formulate obstacle avoidance as an explicit constraint and train quadrotor policies using primal--dual gradient descent--ascent through a differentiable simulator.

PathLift: Depth-Conditioned Metric Lifting for Visual-Navigation Priors

Gwanjun Shin, Hyeongseok Suh, Hongmo Jung, Jongwoo Lim

Generalist visual-navigation policies tell a robot which direction to go but not how far. A separate lifting step is needed at deployment to convert their unitless trajectory into a metric path that a controller can track; existing scalar lifters apply uniform scaling that misses per-waypoint corrections, while in-policy approaches that inject monocular depth into the policy inherit the prediction errors of the depth model near obstacles and at close range.

Have You Seen It Clearly? Uncertainty-Guided Belief Refinement for Zero-Shot Object Navigation

Jingzhi Huang, Junkai Huang, Yuhang Peng, Keyu Mu, Jiaru Zhong, Yi Wang, Lujia Wang, Lap-Pui Chau, Siyang Gao

Zero-Shot Object Navigation (ZSON) requires an agent to locate target objects in unfamiliar environments without additional training for the test categories or environments. Recent approaches leverage large language models and vision-language models to construct spatial representations and guide exploration.

Stereo-Planner: Learning Stereo-to-Trajectory Planning for Zero-Shot Sim-to-Real Quadrotor Navigation

Hongming Shen, Junjie Lu, Xun Chen, Wei Wang, Xinhang Xu, Bailing Tian, Lihua Xie

Existing navigation systems commonly rely on dedicated depth sensors or explicit depth reconstruction, while learning to generate trajectories directly from RGB images remains challenging due to the sim-to-real domain gap. In this work, we propose Stereo-Planner, an end-to-end vision-to-trajectory framework that enables zero-shot sim-to-real planning from stereo RGB observations.

LERR-Nav: Learning to Coordinate Exploration, Recovery, and Reminiscing for Object Navigation

Jingzhi Huang, Junkai Huang, Yuhang Peng, Keyu Mu, Hailong Huang, Haoyang Yang, Renbo Luo, Lujia Wang, Yi Wang

Object Navigation in unseen environments remains a fundamental challenge in embodied AI, as it requires agents to generalize visual and spatial reasoning to novel layouts. While recent advances in large language model (LLM) and vision-language model (VLM) have enhanced semantic mapping, spatial memory, and waypoint selecting for navigation, successful navigation requires more than selecting the next promising waypoint.

Distributed area coverage path planning subject to the inclusion of a headland path

Mogens Plessen

A deterministic method for the problem of distributed area coverage path planning subject to the inclusion of a headland path is presented. Given a, in general, non-convex area to be covered that may, in general, include obstacle areas, multiple robots, at least one robot depot, and constraints on each machinery such as a working width, work capacity limits, travel capacity limits, nonholonomic dynamical constraints and, possibly, a robot start and end depot assignment, distributed paths for each machinery are calculated that collectively enable full area coverage.

HorizonNav: Geometry-Guided Video Diffusion for Anticipatory 3D Robot Navigation

Hajira Amjad, Valerii Serpiva, Viacheslav Liubimov, Didar Seyidov, Dzmitry Tsetserukou

We present HorizonNav, a video diffusion-based framework for anticipatory robot navigation that transforms a single RGB image and a text prompt into a geometrically aligned representation of plausible surrounding 3D space. Given the initial observation and a textual description of the reconstruction objective, a vision-language model, guided by designed instructions, interprets the scene and constructs structured prompts for a video diffusion model.

BT-Agent: Deploying Onboard Robot Agents with Behavior Trees and Multi-Fidelity Evaluation

Fabio Hübel, Adam Lilja, Yue Yin, Siming He, Claire Tomlin, Shankar Sastry, Jonas Frey, Marco Pavone

Deploying language-model agents onboard mobile robots requires task reasoning and responsive execution within limited compute and memory. We propose BT-Agent, an onboard architecture combining LLM-driven task decisions with predefined behavior-tree (BT) skills.

When LiDAR Fades, Radar Takes Over: LiDAR Reliability-Aware Adaptive Localization Under Airborne Obscurants

Moumita Mukherjee, Avijit Banerjee, Anton Koval, George Nikolakopoulo

LiDAR-inertial odometry (LIO) is widely used for real-time localization and mapping, but its reliability can degrade substantially in subterranean environments affected by smoke, dust, and other airborne obscurants, whereas radar remains comparatively robust. This article presents a one-class temporal learning framework for LiDAR degradation detection and reliability-aware localization under such conditions.

Geometry-Preserving Human-to-Robot Upper-Body Motion Retargeting from Monocular Video

Xiaoyu Yang, Sen Han, Da Li, Nan Wu

Monocular RGB video provides an accessible source of human demonstrations for upper-body robot motion, yet video-driven human-to-robot transfer remains challenging because body and hand motion are recovered at different spatial scales, human and robot kinematics differ substantially, and fine distal motion is difficult to preserve across embodiments. We present a geometry-preserving motion-retargeting framework that integrates unified body--hand reconstruction with morphology-independent geometric transfer.
