About

Gather AI was founded in 2017 in Pittsburgh by three graduates of Carnegie Mellon's Robotics Institute: chief executive Sankalp Arora, Daniel Maturana and Geetesh Dubey. It started by pairing autonomous drones with AI software to scan warehouse racks and report inventory in real time, and now describes its product as a physical intelligence platform for warehouses, plants and yards that also includes a vision system mounted on material handling equipment. In October 2022 it announced a $10 million Series A led by Tribeca Venture Partners with Xplorer Capital, Dundee Venture Capital, Expa, Bling Capital, XRC Labs and 99 Tartans. On 9 February 2026 it announced a $40 million Series B led by Smith Point Capital Management, the firm of former Salesforce co-chief executive Keith Block, with Bain Capital Ventures, Tribeca Venture Partners, Bling Capital, Dundee Venture Capital, XRC Ventures and The Hillman Company, bringing its total raised to $74 million. Customers named in that release include GEODIS, NFI Industries, Kwik Trip, Axon, dnata, Barrett Distribution and Langham Logistics. The company said bookings grew 250 percent year on year and that it would use the money to expand to hundreds more facilities worldwide, add predictive inventory features and grow its engineering and customer success teams.
