AgiBot puts 100 X2 humanoids to work as sales assistants in 100 ASD cookware stores

AgiBot said in a press release dated Sept 28 that it has partnered with Shenzhen-listed cookware maker ASD (002403) to deploy 100 AgiBot X2 humanoid robots across 100 ASD retail stores in China, where they greet shoppers, ask about household size, cooking habits and budget, recommend cookware and guide customers around the store.
Questions on promotions, stock and payment are handed to human sales staff. The two companies ran 10-hour livestreams from stores in Wenling, Shanghai and Wuxi from Sept 28 to 30 to show the robots working a normal business day.
Co-founder, president and CTO Peng Zhihui said retail is a harder test than a controlled demonstration because the robots must serve many different customers alongside employees all day. The rollout followed AgiBot's Sept 23 launch of a theme park with Chimelong using more than 300 robots and IDC figures, which MEKAWIRE reported on Sept 29, showing AgiBot led global humanoid shipments in the first half of 2026.
