Jack Technology launches Ani sewing robot as Q3 profit falls 59% on robot spending
Jack Technology, the Shanghai-listed sewing machine maker, launched Ani, which it calls the first humanoid sewing robot, and a robotic garment line on Oct 28, its Q3 report says. Q3 net profit fell 58.94% to RMB 83.88m on revenue up 2.62% to RMB 1.64bn, which the company partly blamed on AI and humanoid robot spending, and two exchange notices warned that robot revenue is still negligible after a 36.82% share jump.
Jack Technology, China's largest listed maker of industrial sewing machines, launched a humanoid sewing robot called Ani and a robotic garment production line on Oct 28, and in the same week told the Shanghai Stock Exchange that the robots barely register in its accounts. The company's third-quarter report, filed on Oct 30, says the launch moves the business from product validation and small-batch trial sales into commercial rollout, run by its unit Aitu Technology. It also says large-scale commercialisation remains uncertain.
The quarter paid for the robots
Third-quarter revenue rose 2.62% to RMB 1,635.5m, while net profit attributable to shareholders fell 58.94% to RMB 83.9m and operating cash flow dropped 68.17%. The company attributed the profit decline to higher spending on AI, digital complete production sets and the humanoid robot field, plus currency effects and sales mix. Nine-month R&D expense rose 20.31% to RMB 473.5m, and selling expense rose about 19.7% to RMB 448.9m. The bright spot was its complete-line business, whose nine-month revenue grew 39.4% to RMB 798m.

The exchange notices
After the stock's closing price deviation passed 20% over Oct 23, 26 and 27, Jack filed an abnormal-trading notice on Oct 28 and a risk notice on Oct 29. The shares rose 36.82% from Oct 23 to Oct 28, with turnover of 21.76%, and hit the daily limit again on Oct 28. Both notices say the robot products serve the sewing field, are at an early commercial stage, contribute a very small share of revenue and profit, and that the related R&D and marketing costs will weigh on current profit. Neither notice nor the quarterly report gives a price, an order count or a delivery schedule for Ani.
MEKAWIRE analysis
Jack is the first incumbent equipment maker in our coverage to put a humanoid into a single trade it already dominates, and its own filings say the market has priced the robot ahead of any revenue.
The profit pattern matches what MEKAWIRE found across the quarter: in our Q3 robotics earnings scorecard, companies with installed bases made money and humanoid bets consumed it. Jack is a milder case than Swancor, the AgiBot-controlled company that lost RMB 255.4m in Q3 on robot R&D, because Jack's sewing machines still fund the experiment. By our arithmetic from the report, Q3 net margin fell to 5.1% from about 12.8% a year earlier, and nine-month R&D rose to 8.5% of revenue from 7.9%. The test is whether Ani appears as a revenue line or named customer orders in the 2026 annual report. Company page: Jack Technology.
