XPeng vice president Gu Jie said the all-solid-state battery for the company's IRON humanoid robot has come off the line in small-batch production and that the robot itself is at the stage before start of production, Yicai reported on Oct 28, with 36Kr and Pandaily carrying the remarks.

XPeng still plans scaled production of the advanced humanoid by the end of 2026 and deployment in its stores and commercial venues from 2027. XPeng has not issued a release; the figures are unconfirmed by the company.

XPeng vice president Gu Jie said the all-solid-state battery developed for the XPeng IRON humanoid has entered small-batch production, while the robot itself is still at the stage before start of production (SOP), financial daily Yicai reported on Oct 28. 36Kr and Pandaily carried the same remarks. XPeng has not published a release on the battery, so capacity, chemistry and cell suppliers remain unconfirmed.

At XPeng's 2025 Tech Day the company said the new IRON would be the industry's first humanoid to use an all-solid-state battery. According to the reports, XPeng still aims to reach scaled production of its advanced humanoid by the end of 2026 and to put the robots into XPeng stores and other commercial venues from 2027 for guiding and explaining tasks.

MEKAWIRE context: XPeng first set the end-2026 mass-production target with the 82-DoF IRON in November 2025, and in September we reported its IRON production line. With two months left in 2026, the battery is the first named component XPeng says is in production; the robot line itself has not passed SOP.

Good or bad news for the company?
