Bonsai Robotics

San Jose developer of vision based autonomy for orchard machinery, sold as the Visionsteer platform.

About

Bonsai Robotics is based in San Jose, California, and is led by co-founder and chief executive Tyler Niday. Its Visionsteer platform uses vision based autonomy to control orchard vehicles and also handles job planning, crop analysis, notifications and data insights for growers. On January 28, 2025 it announced a $15 million Series A led by Bison Ventures, with new investor Cibus Capital and existing investors Acre Venture Partners, Congruent Ventures, Fall Line Capital, E14 Fund, SNR and Serra Ventures. The release said the round followed a seed round completed about a year earlier, whose exact date and amount it did not give. The company said it would use the money to improve its software, expand its physical AI platform and data set, drive partnerships with equipment makers and speed up commercial sales.
