Ground Control Robotics
Atlanta developer of SCUTL, a segmented multilegged robot modelled on centipedes for cluttered and confined spaces in pest control, construction and specialty agriculture.
Ground Control Robotics, Inc. is based in Atlanta, Georgia, and builds SCUTL, a low profile, modular multilegged robot with a segmented body that can carry 360 degree, RGB and thermal cameras and is aimed at pest control, architecture, engineering and construction, and specialty agriculture. The U.S. National Science Foundation awarded the company a $275,000 STTR Phase I grant dated February 2, 2024, with Daniel Soto as principal investigator and Georgia Tech as research partner, to develop centipede-like robots for weed control in berry farms. The award's project report says the SCUTTLE prototype crossed grass three times its height, climbed 20 degree inclines and reached 1.5 mph indoors.
