About

FERNRIDE was founded in September 2019 in Munich by Hendrik Kramer, Maximilian Fisser and Jean-Michael Georg and develops a human-assisted autonomy platform that lets electric terminal tractors run autonomously with remote operators stepping in when needed, aimed at container terminals, logistics yards and, since 2025, defence. It raised a seed round of 7.1 million euros led by 10x in July 2021. Its Series A opened with $31 million in June 2023 and reached $50 million in September 2023 when DTCF and Munich Re Ventures led a $19 million second closing. In September 2025 it added 18 million euros led by Helantic, which the company said brought total funding to 75 million euros. On 17 December 2025 Quantum Systems announced it was acquiring FERNRIDE, without financial details; completion has not been confirmed on a primary page.
