Matic launches Serene robot vacuum at 52 dB for USD 1,695, shipping Nov 10
Matic Robots put its second model, the Matic Serene, on sale on Oct 27: the company's product page lists 52 dB of noise, a price of USD 1,695 against USD 1,495 for the original Matic, and shipping from Nov 10.
Co-founder Mehul Nariyawala told The Verge the robot is otherwise the same Matic with a new quieter hardware stack, and owners of the first model can upgrade in early 2027.
Matic Robots listed the Matic Serene on its website on Oct 27, its first new model since the original Matic launched in 2023. The product page gives a noise level of 52 dB and says the redesign further softens high-pitched tones; the store prices the Serene at USD 1,695, USD 200 above the current USD 1,495 Matic, with shipping from Nov 10.
Co-founder and president Mehul Nariyawala told The Verge the Serene targets noise-sensitive buyers, reaches 52 dB at maximum suction (the original was rated at 55 dB) and is otherwise the same robot, with the change coming from a new hardware stack. Existing owners will be able to request a Serene hardware upgrade in early 2027 by paying the difference between their purchase price and the Serene's price, according to the same report.
MEKAWIRE context: Matic's camera-based design and on-device mapping set it apart from the lidar disc robots sold by Roborock, Ecovacs and iRobot (our home-robots explainer), and Matic was one of the robots the FCC cleared from its Covered List restrictions in October (our Oct 20 story). At USD 1,695 the Serene sits at the top of the US robot-vacuum price range, a bet that quiet operation, not suction, is the feature buyers still pay for.
