Daedong
Korea's largest farm-machinery maker, founded in 1947, now building autonomous AI tractors, agricultural transport robots and electric farm machines.
Daedong is a Daegu-headquartered Korean maker of tractors, combines, rice transplanters, diesel engines and farm drones, founded in 1947 and listed in Korea since June 1975 (code 000490). The company says it produced Korea's first tractor in 1968 and first combine in 1971, entered robotics for farm and non-farm uses in 2023, launched Korea's first agricultural transport robot in 2025 and its first AI tractor, the vision-based HX series with level-4 autonomy, in 2026. It reports 2025 consolidated revenue of KRW 1.4847 trillion, exports to about 70 countries, 1,022 employees as of December 2024 and annual capacity of about 130,000 machines. Its stated strategy groups AI precision farming, AI smart farming and AI field robots around a central operation centre; it has said it is pursuing joint development of an agricultural robot with Rainbow Robotics, and in October 2026 its 55 kW autonomous electric tractor project was selected for Korea's K-GX green-transition programme. North American and European sales run under the KIOTI brand.
