AGIBOT puts more than 300 robots on permanent duty at Chimelong's Hengqin park and delivers its 20,000th unit

AGIBOT and Chimelong Group opened Chimelong Spaceship Park in Hengqin, Zhuhai, on 24 September 2026 with more than 300 AGIBOT humanoids and quadrupeds working daily at over 100 interaction points. AGIBOT handed over its 20,000th production robot, an Expedition A3 Ultra, 88 days after its 15,000th, and the partners launched a joint research institute and a 5G-A network with China Mobile.

Summary

AGIBOT has put more than 300 of its robots into daily service at Chimelong Spaceship Park in Hengqin, Zhuhai, in what the Shanghai robot maker and Chimelong Group describe as the world's first large-scale theme park built around embodied AI. The park reopened on 24 September 2026, and AGIBOT used the occasion to hand Chimelong its 20,000th production robot, an Expedition A3 Ultra humanoid, according to releases on the company's Chinese and English newsrooms.

The numbers are specific. AGIBOT says the robots, a mix of humanoids and quadruped robot dogs drawn from its full product range, work at more than 100 interaction points across the park. The company lists seven service scenarios: commercial entertainment shows, science education and study tours, guided tours and shopping guidance, retail service stations, AI companion experiences, hotel reception and sports competitions. AGIBOT calls the first phase of the deployment a "normalised" operation, meaning the machines are on duty every operating day rather than brought in for a single event.

What visitors see is mostly performance and service work. AGIBOT says the opening featured a group dance in which human performers and robots shared the stage, and an aerial act it describes as the first robot "flying trapeze" show. Its Expedition A3 and Lingxi X2 humanoids sang and danced with cast members. Guide robots answer destination queries, plan routes, lead visitors on foot and give rolling commentary, while science education robots run quizzes, games and talks on marine topics. At retail points and in hotel settings the robots greet guests, answer product questions and hold multi-turn conversations, the company said. Visitors can also play table tennis and try manipulation challenges against the machines.

Behind the stage sits infrastructure that will matter more than the dance numbers. AGIBOT, Chimelong and China Mobile jointly released what they call the first large-scale 5G-A embodied AI application in a tourism setting, built on 5G network slicing, local edge devices and security isolation. AGIBOT also introduced a one-stop operations and maintenance platform for robot fleets in scenic areas, and a safety scheme that it says covers six dimensions: physical space, personal safety, charging and fire safety, AI, data and operations. Conversation runs on WITA, AGIBOT's in-house multimodal interaction model, and Chimelong can customise each robot's voice, facial expression, persona, movements and costume through AGIBOT's Lingxin platform.

The partnership moved quickly. AGIBOT founder, chairman and chief executive Deng Taihua said the two companies began their strategic cooperation the previous month and completed the bulk delivery within about a month. He framed the relationship as a ten-year strategic partnership and said the opening was "only the starting point". Dong Guixin, senior vice president and chief scientist of Chimelong Group, said the parties would work through a newly founded Chimelong x AGIBOT Embodied AI Culture and Tourism Joint Research Institute to set a benchmark for large-scale commercial use of embodied AI in China.

For AGIBOT the park is also a production story. The company announced its 5,000th robot on 8 December 2025, its 10,000th on 30 March 2026 and its 15,000th, a Genie G2, on 28 June 2026. The 20,000th unit therefore came 88 days after the 15,000th, which works out to an average of 56.8 units a day between announcements, up from 44.6 between the December and March milestones. The robots at Chimelong account for at least 6% of the 5,000 units added in that interval.

Chimelong brings scale on the demand side. According to AGIBOT's English release, the group runs three resort destinations with eight theme parks and nine hotels and receives more than 40 million visits a year. That gives AGIBOT a single customer with high footfall, long operating hours and a strong incentive to keep robots running, which is a harder test than a trade show booth.

The deployment fits a pattern of AGIBOT moving from research sales to paying commercial sites. On 29 September 2026 the company said 100 Lingxi X2 humanoids had entered 100 stores of cookware maker ASD across China as in-store promoters. Its rivals pursue similar routes. Unitree Robotics listed on Shanghai's STAR Market on 18 August 2026, UBTech Robotics has been listed in Hong Kong since December 2023, and Galbot and EngineAI have raised large private rounds, but none has announced a single entertainment site with this many robots on permanent duty.

Several questions remain open. AGIBOT has not broken down how many of the 300 robots are humanoids, quadrupeds or other models, nor disclosed the commercial terms, so it is unclear whether Chimelong bought, leased or co-invested in the fleet. Neither company has published uptime, incident or visitor satisfaction data, and the safety scheme has not been described in technical detail. The joint research institute has no published budget or staffing.

MEKAWIRE analysis

Chimelong turns AGIBOT's production ramp into a public reliability test, and the result will be judged on uptime and repeat visits rather than on the opening show.

The evidence for that reading is in the supporting systems AGIBOT chose to announce alongside the robots. A dedicated 5G-A network with slicing and edge compute, a fleet operations platform and a six-part safety scheme are the tools of an operator planning to run hundreds of machines for years, not of a vendor staging a demonstration. The one-month delivery window and the ten-year partnership term point the same way.

The strongest counter-argument is that entertainment is the most forgiving deployment there is. Robots that dance, pose for photos and answer scripted questions need less dexterity and autonomy than robots that move parts on a factory line, and a theme park can absorb downtime by swapping units or pausing a show. Large fleet numbers in such a setting say little about whether AGIBOT's hardware can do productive work.

Bull case. If the park keeps most of the fleet in service through the October Golden Week and the winter season, AGIBOT gains a reference site that other resorts in China and abroad can visit, and the operations platform becomes a product it can sell. Chimelong's 40 million annual visits also give WITA a large stream of real conversations to learn from.

Bear case. A visible failure, such as a fall near children or a run of broken robots at a headline show, would hurt both brands and invite regulatory attention to robots in crowded public spaces. If the economics depend on promotional pricing from AGIBOT, the model may not travel to operators without Chimelong's scale.

Signals to watch:

  • Visitor numbers and robot uptime that Chimelong or AGIBOT publish for the 1 to 7 October 2026 Golden Week holiday.
  • Whether AGIBOT announces a second phase at Chimelong or a similar deal with another resort operator before the end of 2026.
  • The date of AGIBOT's 25,000th robot; at the June to September pace it would fall around late December 2026.

    Why it matters

A pilot with a handful of robots tests whether a machine can do a task. A fleet of more than 300 on daily duty at one consumer site tests whether an operator can manage charging schedules, spare units, crowd safety, network load and staff who can recover a fallen robot in minutes. AGIBOT chose to announce the operations platform, the 5G-A network and the safety scheme together with the robots, which signals that it sees fleet operations as a product, not a cost.

The park also gives AGIBOT a public, repeatable showcase. Factory customers rarely let competitors or investors walk their lines, but any buyer can purchase a ticket to Hengqin. That turns Chimelong into a sales tool for every resort, mall and museum operator considering service robots.

    Rival analysis

Unitree Robotics, listed on the STAR Market since 18 August 2026, UBTech Robotics, listed in Hong Kong since 28 December 2023, and privately funded Galbot and EngineAI all sell humanoids into commercial settings, but MEKAWIRE found no announcement from any of them of a permanent fleet of 300 or more robots at a single consumer venue. Chimelong therefore gives AGIBOT a visible lead in the culture and tourism niche, reinforced a few days later by the 100-store ASD retail deployment.

The lead is not structural. Entertainment robots require less precision than factory work, and any rival with a reliable biped and a content team could bid for the next resort contract. AGIBOT's defensible assets are the customisation platform, the operations software and the reference itself.

  3. 03

    Valuation context

AGIBOT has not disclosed the value of the Chimelong contract, and MEKAWIRE has no verified figure for its latest valuation. The relevant data point for investors is volume: 5,000 robots added between 28 June and 24 September 2026, of which at least 300 went to Chimelong. If similar resort deals follow, culture and tourism could become a meaningful share of output.

The rental and customisation layers matter for margins. Robots that are configured through Lingxin and monitored through a fleet platform create recurring service revenue that a one-off hardware sale does not.

  4. 04

    Supply-chain implications

Delivering several hundred robots within about a month implies that AGIBOT had finished units in inventory or spare line capacity, consistent with its rising daily output. The deployment also relies on China Mobile for the 5G-A slice and on edge devices installed in the park, so telecom equipment and edge compute become part of the bill of materials for large venues.

For component suppliers, the mix matters. Humanoids performing aerial acts and dance routines put heavy demands on joint actuators, batteries and fall protection, while quadrupeds in crowds need robust perception. Wear rates from this site will be informative for actuator and battery vendors.

  5. 05

    Signals to watch

Watch for any operating data from the 1 to 7 October 2026 Golden Week, the first heavy test for the fleet. Watch whether Chimelong extends the deployment to its Guangzhou resort or to other Hengqin parks, and whether the joint research institute publishes standards for robots in scenic areas.

On the production side, the 25,000th unit would arrive around late December 2026 at the June to September average pace. An earlier date would show further acceleration.

  6. 06

    Analyst view

Thesis: the Chimelong deal is a credible step toward commercial service robotics because AGIBOT announced the operating stack, not just the robots, but it proves little yet about productive labour. Confidence: medium. The facts on scale, timing and partners are confirmed on AGIBOT and Chimelong pages, which supports the call; the absence of commercial terms, uptime data and model mix keeps confidence from being high.

The key risk to the thesis is that the fleet shrinks quietly after the opening period. A second-phase announcement or published uptime figures would raise confidence.

  7. 07

    Questions you should be asking

How many of the robots are humanoids versus quadrupeds, and which models make up the fleet beyond the A3 and X2? Did Chimelong buy the robots outright, lease them through AGIBOT's rental network, or pay per service hour?

What staffing does the park keep for robot supervision and recovery, and what incident reporting will the operators publish? Who funds the joint research institute and what will it produce in its first year?
