Namuga wins its first big humanoid customer for camera modules, CEO says
Namuga, the Korean camera-module maker that sold 99% of its output to Samsung Electronics in 2024 and 2025, has won a global humanoid robot company as a customer and is preparing mass production, chief executive Lee Dong-ho said at a semiconductor conference in Seoul on Oct 16, The Elec reported on Oct 18.
The company did not name the buyer or the order size; The Elec reported that the customer is a US humanoid maker owned by a global carmaker group, which Namuga has not confirmed. Lee said one humanoid carries eight RGB cameras in the head and five to six time-of-flight sensors in the joints, and set a target of KRW 1 trillion in revenue by 2030, more than double the KRW 459.9 billion The Elec cites for last year.
MEKAWIRE reported on Oct 14 that RS Automation is building a test platform for Korean motors, reducers and encoders, another Korean parts maker lining up for humanoid supply chains.
