Unitree Robotics founder Wang Xingxing said on Oct 22 that roughly 10,000 to 20,000 G1 humanoid robots have come off the company's production line since the model was launched in May 2024, and called the G1 the best-selling humanoid in the world, according to a report by the Shanghai-based STAR Market Daily that IT Home and other Chinese outlets carried the same day.

Wang spoke at the 2026 World Physical AI Conference, which Unitree combined with its partner ecosystem conference. The figure is a cumulative production count given as a range, not a sales or shipment number, and Unitree has not published it in a release or an exchange filing, so MEKAWIRE treats it as reported and unconfirmed.

MEKAWIRE context: Unitree's listing prospectus counted more than 5,500 humanoids of all models shipped in 2025, and the G1 is listed on unitree.com from $13,500, so even the low end of Wang's range implies G1 output on the order of $135 million at list price before discounts (Unitree explainer).

UBTech, by comparison, reported 921 full-size humanoids sold in six months (humanoid price explainer).

Good or bad news for the company?
