Relay Robotics
San Jose maker of autonomous indoor delivery robots for hospitals and hotels, formed from Savioke's robot business.
Relay Robotics was formed by acquiring the research and development division and the Relay product line of Savioke, whose co-founder Steve Cousins became its chief technology officer. Its Relay and Relay+ robots carry items autonomously through hospitals, hotels and commercial buildings, riding elevators on their own, and the company says its robots have completed more than 1.5 million deliveries. In May 2022, when it was based in Campbell, California and led by chairman and chief executive Michael O'Donnell, it announced a $10 million Series A led by MK Capital. It said at the time that it held 10 US patents. In June 2023 it introduced a new generation of robots for hospitals, and its recent announcements cover deployments at HCA Florida JFK Hospital and BayCare hospitals. Its website now lists Sultan Mehrabi as chief executive and San Jose as its address.
