Korean manufacturing-AI startup Dimillion has installed the first unit of BATON, a system that uses 2D and 3D vision to locate bolts and connectors on used electric-vehicle battery packs, plans the robot's disassembly sequence and path, swaps tools automatically and then grades each battery by voltage, internal resistance, usable capacity and cell imbalance, at battery remanufacturer PM Energy Solution, the Electronic Times reported on Oct 22 in an interview with chief executive Han Yo-han.

According to the report, the company targets supplying 5 systems in Korea in 2027 and 20 in 2028 before moving into Vietnam's electric two-wheeler battery market; disassembly time per pack, automation rate and grading accuracy are still being verified, and MEKAWIRE found no company release confirming the targets.

The Sungkyunkwan University spin-off is in the 2026 Gyeonggi climate-tech startup programme run with the Gyeonggi Center for Creative Economy and Innovation. MEKAWIRE context: Dimillion is not yet in our company database, and its pack-agnostic approach targets the re-teaching cost that limits robot use in battery recycling lines.

Good or bad news for the company?
