GXO takes Agility's Digit humanoids to two more US warehouses from early 2027
GXO Logistics and Agility Robotics said on Oct 26 they will deploy the Digit humanoid at GXO's e-commerce sites in Statesville, North Carolina, and Lebanon, Tennessee, from early 2027, starting with Digit 4 and moving to Digit 5.
Digit has moved more than 100,000 totes at GXO's Flowery Branch, Georgia, site since the 2024 robots-as-a-service deal, the companies said. It is Agility's first disclosed multi-site expansion with an existing customer, a week before the Nov 2 vote on its Nasdaq listing.
GXO Logistics will put Agility Robotics' Digit humanoid to work in two more of its US warehouses, the companies said in a joint press release on Oct 26. Digit will handle repetitive tote work in e-commerce fulfillment at GXO's sites in Statesville, North Carolina, and Lebanon, Tennessee. The deployments are expected to begin in early 2027 on the current Digit 4 and switch to Digit 5 once that model is commercially available.
The release gives one number for the first site. Since the multi-year robots-as-a-service (RaaS) agreement signed in June 2024, Digit has moved more than 100,000 totes at GXO's Flowery Branch, Georgia, facility, picking them up and placing them on conveyors next to existing automation. Across all customers, Agility says Digit has logged more than 65,000 hours of real-world operation. Neither company disclosed how many robots the new sites will get, the contract value or its length.

As of Oct 26, 2026
This is the third piece of Agility customer news in a week. On Oct 20 farm machinery maker AGCO signed for a 2027 pilot at its Kansas plant, and on Oct 21 Agility said it had added four unnamed customers. Those were first steps. GXO is different: it has run Digit in live operations for about two years and is now paying to extend it, which is the evidence investors in Agility's listing have been missing. Our Agility explainer shows why it matters: the SPAC values the company at USD 2.5 billion pre-money on USD 1.78 million of 2025 sales.
Why it matters
Humanoid makers have announced many pilots and few expansions. A second and third site at the same logistics customer suggests the unit economics at Flowery Branch held up well enough for GXO to scale. The open question is volume: 100,000 totes over about two years is modest for a warehouse, and the release still gives no fleet size. Agility's shareholders vote on the Churchill Capital Corp XI merger on Nov 2, and the companies expect it to close in the fourth quarter, with the shares trading as AGLT.
